No, the Groesbeek-Assenbroek Foundation is, based on its incorporation deed, only allowed to support students who study at a University in the Netherlands.
I have previously received a grant from the Groesbeek-Assenbroek Foundation. Can I submit another application?
Yes, you can submit an application every academic year.
Can some other person than a student counsellor write a recommendation letter?
No, Only if the application is accompanied by a letter from a university student counsellor, the application can be processed.
I am doing a second study. Can I submit an application?
Yes, the board assesses whether a second study stands in the way of being awarded a grant. In principle, in case of a second study, no grants are awarded, but there are exceptions (for example, if someone is drawn by lot, if the second study connects to the first study or otherwise.
I am studying at a Hogeschool, but I am studying for a Masters Degree. Can I submit an application?
No. A Master of Applied Sciences does not qualify as an education at a University in the Netherlands.
I am studying at a Hogeschool, but I do follow certain courses at the University for this education. Can I submit an application?
No. Only studies completely followed at a University in the Netherlands qualify.
Frequently asked questions donations
Is my donation to the Foundation taxed?
No, the Groesbeek-Assenbroek Foundation is a public benefit organization (ANBI) and as a consequence, donations made to the foundation are not subject to gift tax.
Can I make a donation plan?
Of course. If you want to make a donation every year, we can help you set up a tailor-made donation plan.
Do I have to notarize the donation?
No. Only if a periodic donation is in place, it may be wise to have this registered by a notary public, but this is not an obligation. Special forms made available by the Dutch tax authorities can also be used.
Is the donation tax deductible for income tax purposes?
If a periodic donation is made of minimal five years, the donation is fully tax deductible for income tax purposes provided certain conditions are met. Also if a onetime donation is made the donation can be deductible for income tax purposes, if the total of the donations in the tax year is between 1% and 10% of the taxable income and is higher than € 60.
Is the donation from the Foundation to the student taxed?
No, the Groesbeek-Assenbroek Foundation is a public benefit organization (ANBI) and as a consequence, donations made by the foundation to students are not subject to gift tax. The allowances are not subject to income tax for the students either.
Can I make more than one donation per year?
Yes, for tax purposes all donations in one tax year are added up. No gift tax is due.
What is the best way to include the Groesbeek Assenbroekstichting in my last will and testament?
By making a bequest in your last will and testament, you can contribute to the Groesbeek-Assenbroek Foundation after passing away. We have extensive experience with this and can assist you in the best way to set this up, together with a notary public.
